I'm starting a magazine. Not an e-zine, blog or newsletter. An actual print magazine.

I found a publisher that will print at a very low price, and even at a print-to-order deal.


Writers:

So, I'd like to start a magazine, with a few dedicated editors who know what they're talking about. The primary distribution for the magazine would be West Coast college towns, but I plan to make it available for internet order from the very first issue.


Artists:
First of all, I'd like a few cartoonists. Any publication is better with illustrated humor.
I'd also like some pop culture artists to interview and showcase. Any new art medium, or things like graffiti and abstract art. No offense to traditional artists, but there's plenty of coverage for you already.



The magazine will be ~60 pages, maybe a little less/more depending on the issue's content. At the beginning, it will be quarterly (every three months), but if it takes off, it will be a monthly publication.

The main subjects of the magazine will be:

-Gadgets/computers
-New technology
-Scientific discoveries (Mainly space, environmental and electronic)
-Video Games
-Nerd-culture movies and TV
-Pop art

I believe that with the right people, the publication can really take off, and become quite a business.

Of course, all writers/contributers will be paid for their efforts (starting at sales/profit percentage based on contribution size/popularity, eventually a set salary.)
Additionally, for up and coming journalists and artists, you can get your name out there too. Kind of a free jump into the published world.

I keep losing all the high-res versions of my photos. I need to get another external hard drive just for my photography.

As dA no longer takes over 9000 hours to load for me, I'm contemplating using it again.
